Social Media websites have taken the Internet by storm. There are new websites being added constantly. What is the attraction? YouTube is one of the biggest video hosting websites on the Internet. Millions of people visit YouTube every day to see the latest videos and to search for topics that interest them. Take a look at YouTube and you will see the power of using this website to bring traffic to your own website. You can add some notes to each video that you upload to YouTube and you can create a signature as well. You can use both as a means to promote your website.

The video can also give information about your products or services. You can show the benefits of your products, how to use your products, or testimonials about your products or services. You can also show your website URL in the video. Use your imagination and I am sure you can think of many ways to promote your products and services through video.

If you create a good video, then it is possible to have over a million people see your video. Take a look at some of the statistics shown for the most watched videos. Make a funny video or a shocking video and you will get more viewers. People will see your video and send links to their friends and family. This is called viral, because it spreads like a virus, but does not make people sick.

Squidoo is website that hosts webpages for free, and also allows you to collect money for Ads shown on your webpages. The webpage is called a lens and you can embed videos from YouTube, post articles or information about your products and services, and link to other blogs. You can create a bio that includes information about your company, your products and services. You can also upload a photo of yourself to include in your bio. This helps to open people to read your lens, because they realize you are a person too.

You can post articles about your products and services. You can include some backlinks to your website or other blogs. You want to make sure that you do not put too many links in the body of the lens. Too many links may be considered spam and will get your lens deleted. Make sure the links are relevant to the topic of the article and that the links do not detract from the content. Make the links as natural as possible and not to appear as blatant advertisement, because that may be considered spam and get your lens deleted.

Google Blogger is another means to get good quality backlinks to your website. This is a free service and you can choose to host the blog on their server, which will give you good backlinks. You can use PLR articles or write your own articles to post. Make sure you follow the same guidelines listed for Squidoo. You do not want to create spam, because no one likes spam.

Another good blog is WordPress. WordPress is an open source code and there are a lot of plug-ins created that increase the functionality of WordPress. The same things apply for types of articles and the number of backlinks. The main thing to keep in mind is that you want to have content that is informative and helpful to your readers. You want people to read your posts and to tell others about your blog. This will create the viral advertising that you need to increase traffic to your website.

You also want people to bookmark your blog or sign up for an RSS feed, because this will encourage them to come back and read more posts. You need to make posts on a regular basis to give them a reason to come back. If a visitor comes back to your blog and finds that you haven’t made any new posts, then they will likely not return.
