How to Use Private Label Rights Products to Your Advantage
Private Label Rights or PLR for short is a term for a type of digital information product. Products with PLR usually come with the right to use the content of the product in almost any way you see fit. You can claim authorship to the product. You can use the information as content for your website. But how can you get the most out of this type of product?
The first use to consider is for content on your own website. You can use the information as an article in the body of your webpage. You can host your own blog on your website and use the information as a post for your blog. One thing to consider when using PLR products, is that you want to make changes to the information to make it unique. You can do this by paraphrasing the paragraphs. Change the order of the words. Rewrite a few of the paragraphs completely. What ever you can do to make the information unique.
Having unique content is important for search engine ranking and for inclusion in the search engine database. Remember the source that you got the PLR product was also available to countless others, and if the PLR product has been in circulation for a few years that could mean that thousands of other people have the same PLR product.
You can also use the articles to get back links to your website or blog. Post articles with article directories and include an Author Box that has your name and website or blog URL. You can find article directories by doing a Google search for “article directory” or “article bank”. You want to post as many as you can on a regular basis to get your name and website known by the readers of the directories. Other people will use the articles in the directories on their own websites or will link to articles that interest them. So your article can end up on many websites. Make sure you include a note that people are free to use your article, if they keep the article intact and include your Author Box. This will give you the potential to have a bunch of link backs from just one article.
Another great resource is the discussion groups and forums. These are usually targeted groups that focus on a specific topic, so you want to pick a discussion group or forum that ties in well with your products or services. If you post information that is off topic, then you could get your posts deleted and you could be banned from the discussion group or forum. You can find these by doing a Google search “your topic forum” make sure to use the quotation marks for this search to narrow down the search results. You also want to post comments to the group or forum for a while before you post an article. Build a relationship with the people in the group. Find out who the moderators are and get on their good side. Also make sure you understand the requirements for posting and follow the pattern that you see others using for posts. You want to fit in and follow topics that you see others posting and discussing about.
Articles can also be used on blog sites that are hosted on other websites, such as Blogger, WordPress.com (WordPress.org is the open source for hosting on your website), and many others that you can find by doing a Google search for “free blog host”. You can mix links in body of the blog posts using anchor text that contains targeted keywords and key phrases about the webpage that you are linking to.
There are also social media websites, such as Squidoo, HubPages and others that you can post articles with links in them. Be careful to follow the guidelines of the website when making posts. Be careful not to have too many links in the body of the article, because that may count as spam and get your post deleted.
If the PLR product is an ebook then you can break up the information into many parts to use as articles for a variety of purposes. You can break up the information easily based on chapters or headings. It is possible to make many articles from one PLR product. Of course the opposite is true if you start with related PLR articles, then you could make an ebook with each article as a chapter or heading. Then you could sell the assembled product with Personal Use Rights for $7.00 – $19.95, with Resell Rights for $20.00 – $39.95, with Master Resell Rights for $40.00 – $97.00 for example. You could charge any price you want, but these are fairly common pricing strategies that Internet Marketers use.
These are some uses for Private Label Rights products, but this list is not all inclusive. The limitations of the PLR products is your imagination. I am sure you can think of more uses on your own.
