Many people talk about the Law of Attraction. This is called by many different names and the general ideas have been talked about for many years. Religions have been teaching similar ideas for centuries. I am sure you have probably heard some of these ideas at some time in your life, but you probably have some doubts or concerns about whether it works.

The basic idea of the law of attraction is that you need to have a positive attitude and not think of negative things. What does this mean? When faced with a problem, how do you think about that problem? If you think of the problem as a goal that you need to overcome, then you will be able to face the problem and beat it. If you think of the problem as a negative thing or have a pity party, then the problem may always be there even years later. Another point about negative thinking is that the problem is still there and other problems start to crop up.

Negative Thinking Brings More Problems!

Negative thinking brings more negative things to you. The main reason is because that negative thought consumes you and start to project that negative thinking in your speech, body language and other ways that we human beings use to communicate to each other. The sub-conscious mind does not recognise negatives! When you think about bad things, then to your sub-conscious mind you are requesting the bad thing to happen. When you are around other people, then your sub-conscious mind tells the other people that you want that bad thing to happen to you.

This is not some mysterious telepathic projection as some might have you think, but has to do with your body stance, body language and speech patterns. The body also emits hormones, phermones and other smells when you are experiencing certain emotions and feelings. Have you ever heard the expression, “He stinks of fear?” We may not be able to detect all of these smells in our conscious mind unless we have been trained to do so, but our sub-conscious mind will pick up this smell and decode what it means.

The sub-conscious mind of the people around you will detect that you want this bad thing to happen to you, so guess what happens? The bad thing happens! They may not be even aware that they have done something bad to you, because you are sub-consciously asking for that bad thing.

The negative thinking will also affect you. You are requesting this bad thing, so the sub-conscious mind will do what it can to make the bad thing happen. Have you ever had a bad thing happen to you first thing in the morning and thought to yourself, “I am going to have a bad day.” What happened to the rest of your day? Was it a good day or a bad day? Why? Your sub-conscious mind understood that you were requesting a bad day. You said you were going to have a bad day, and even during the course of the day you may have re-affirmed that thought by saying, “Yes this is a bad day”, or “I am having a bad day!”

Change your Thinking

Instead of thinking a negative thought, think of a positive thought that compliments the bad thing. Instead of saying, “I am having a bad day” say “I am having a good day”. There are certain things that you just can not change about your day, but if you have positive thinking then in your mind that is true. Your sub-conscious mind will do all it can to grant your request for the positive thing.

When you have positive thinking then you can over look some of the bad things that people do to you every day. You realize that they did not mean to hurt you, and you show a smile or a wave when they pass by. The positive thinking will become contagious, and people will smilae and wave back. Try it for yourself and see if it works.

The sad thing is that people are programmed from an early age to fail. Your parents may have been poor, or middle class. They projected onto you that that was all you would have in life. They demonstrated how to keep yourself poor or middle class. You work at a JOB for 8 hours. You spend more then you make. You do not try to go against the grain, just keep on trucking on. This is why some people define a JOB as Just Over Broke. This programming will keep you having the negative thinking that you can not work for yourself, or that you can not succeed.

You need to make an effort to break the chains that bind you to failure. You need to release resentment, pessimism, cynicism, hatred, envy, and selfishness. You need to do good to others, because then you will have good done for you. Before you can love other people, you need to first learn to love yourself. Once you learn to love yourself, then you will find that others will love you too.

How Can You Think Positive?

Take stock of what you have and the good thing that have happened to you in your life. Did you wake up this morning? Then you have been granted another day of life! Are you able to walk and do things? Then consider yourself fortunate, because some people do not have that ability. Can you see with your eyes? Then consider yourself fortunate, because some people do not have that ability. Is your Mom or Dad still alive? Thank them for helping to give you life!

Some people hold resentments for past events and may not even speak to their parent(s), but they still helped to bring you to life. Some people may hold resentments for past events and may not speak to their siblings, other family members, people they work with, or people they once called friend. Who does it hurt to harbour these feelings? The other person may not even know why you are mad, what they did to make you mad, or even that you are mad at them. This is like a poison that eats away at you and your life. By releasing the bad feelings and resentments, you free yourself from enslavement to that poisonous substance. As long as you hold on to it, you allow that resentment to take control of your life and your thinking.
