Getting traffic to your website is the single most important part of Internet Marketing. Traffic is the life blood of your business. If you do not bring people to visit your website, then you will not be able to sell anything online. There are many ways to accomplish this and you will see some of the top secret methods used by the top Internet Marketers.
YouTube
The power of YouTube is the sheer volume of people that view the videos posted on the website. You can create a video of your computer desktop while you walk through the benefits of your software product. You could create a video showing how to do just about anything. Camtasia is a nice software package to make videos from your computer desktop and record your voice to narrate the video. You can download a similar software package that is called Jing.
Try to make the video 5 minutes or less. Make an introduction with your website address and other information about the video. You want to brand your video so that someone else can not steal the video and promote their own website. The introduction can be made with MS Word, another word processor program, photoshop, or other program, then you can open that on your computer desktop while recording.
I recently created and uploaded two videos on YouTube. Install Exclusive Niche Websites Part 1 How to Install Exclusive Niche Websites Part 2 Notice the active link in the information box that leads to my Blog. Also notice the introduction screen for both videos. Once you have your video posted on YouTube, then you could embed the video in your Blog or on your website. By posting the video on YouTube you free up a lot of the bandwidth that would be used if you hosted the video on your own website.
Squidoo
You can use Squidoo to post articles and even embed your YouTube videos to get more exposure. People like to watch videos. You can use this fact to your advantage. You can also set up your Squidoo webpage or lens to make money for you by showing ads and affiliate links.
Squidoo is considered a social media website, because you can embed video, post photos, post written copy such as articles and post audio on your lens. Make your lens attractive to people that search the Squidoo website and for people that search through Google or other search engines. The more people that see your Squidoo lens means the more people that will click on your links.
Make sure you use good content. The goal is to get people to read the information you are posting and to click on the links to your webpage or Blog. A secondary benefit with using a social media website to put links to your website is the higher ranking of the social media website. A link to your website from a higher ranking website will help increase your page rank with Google and the other search engines.
